The term is made up of two words 'Yacht(s)' and 'Brisbane'. A yacht is a recreational boat which is rigged up. It is used for lesuire and pleasure crusies. Some yachts are built for day trips while other yachts are built for trips which may take a week. Some yachts are motor powered, however, most are wind powered. commonly have sails and some have custom designs.
Brisbane is a beautiful place where many cultural events take place from time to time. Brisbane is the capital city of Queensland and it is home to famous places and attractions. In Brisbane there is Soutbank which is where the World Expo was held during the 80's. There is also many night clubs, wedding venues, hotels and restuarants in the Brisbane region. Southbank is located on the southern side of the Brisbane River and it is home to many cultural buildings including the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (which is abbreviated QPAC), the Queensland Ballet, the Gallery of Modern Art, the State Library of Queensland and another Art Gallery. Also, Southbank has the Science Museum and the Queenlsand Museum as well as Fireworks throughout the year on special occasions.
There are many boats which travel down the Brisbane River, however there are not a lot (if any) on the Brisbane river. There is the Norman Park Hotel and Pub in Queensland which is popular for night events. Many footy scandals (as well as other scandals) have taken place their over the year.
Each year many interesting events take place in Brisbane, including EKKA (which is more commonly known as the Royal Queensland Show), Riverfestival - including Riverfire, the Home Show and Motoring Shows. Also there are sporting events, including Rugby League Matches, Cricket Matches, the Brisbane International tennis match, State of Origing Games and Australian Football League Matches.
